Okay. Since I'm practically forty and I've been reading novels ever since I could read, there are way too many favorites to name, especially when up until Harry Potter came out, when I wasn't reading classics, I was pretty much addicted to mysteries. There's a lot of those. A lot. Let's just name favorites I've read recently. That works.

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdm by Leigh Bardugo
I Am Jackie Chan: My Life in Action by Jackie Chan
City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare (Pretty much anything by Cassandra Clare)
So, Anyway by John Cleese
Steve & Me by Terri Irwin
The Lotus War Trilogy by Jay Kristoff
Starflight by Melissa Landers
I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
Cress by Marissa Meyer
The Dark Defiles by Richard K. Morgan (Also, anything Takeshi Kovacs related is a must)
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Good Omens by Terri Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater (Plus the entire series, definitely)
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
Dreams of Gods & Monsters by Laini Taylor (All three books are awesome. Seriously.)
Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation by Lynne Truss
The Martian by Andy Weir
Wow. That is a SUPER short list! Who's idea was this, anyway?
I didn't think I was this picky until I looked at this pathetically puny list. Harsh. Feeling extremely guilty...
Box sets are extremely hard to resist, and there's about 100 more books on my wish list, but
those are the top ones. If another Lee Child or Michael Connolly book comes out
they will be purchased before you can say Hieronymus Reacher.
And why haven't they made Nero Wolf books in giant volumes? Or Wodehouse in gorgeous hardcover?
