About Me

My name is SiriGuruDev Kaur Khalsa Singh and I was born in Orlando, Florida on June 22nd in 1976. I live between New Mexico and Punjab with my husband, two daughters, and extended relatives, traveling around Asia and Europe reluctantly as those who get nauseated in modes of transportation will understand. I grew up attending boarding school in Northern India and always dreamed of being a writer. Thanks to Amazon and self-publishing, dreams really do come true.

Writing...

Writing this book has been an amazing journey and I have been blessed to have so many people helping and encouraging me every step of the way. My advice to anyone who wants to write is there is absolutely nothing but yourself stopping you. If you truly love to tell stories, just do it. And when people give you harsh feedback, don't give up. Take the input seriously (it's actually more helpful and productive than nice feedback), learn from your mistakes, always hire an editor and, above all,
keep writing!

Some likes and dislikes...
Let's see. Likes. Other than writing and reading, I like naps, music that cheers the soul, quiet and peaceful laps in an otherwise empty swimming pool, eating fried and cheesy food, laughing with friends and family, and avoiding social occasions.
Dislikes. Over-priced brand-name crap, string beans, being stuck in meetings where people like to hear themselves use big words without actually saying anything, the reptile family (I'm trying to get better about this one. The way some feel about spiders and bugs, I feel about reptiles. It's not logical. I'm sure most of them are very nice once you get to know them), children going berserk and screaming in my house after eight o'clock at night, just pain in general, and math.
